History of Aadhaar Card

Nilekani and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met on 1 July 2014 to persuade the project’s merits. Modi announced on 5 July 2014 that his administration would continue the project and invited an official to look at the possibility that the project could link with passports. It announced in November 2014 that the Foreign Ministry was considering making Aadhaar a condition compulsory for holders of passports.

4.) In next Step Enter your Full Name given in the Aadhar Slip, in next box enter your 6 Digit Area PINCODE.
5.) Now for Human Verification Enter the Code given in the Image. (In this example the code is 056810).

What is TOTP?
- It is an one-time temporary password (OTP), that is generated by an algorithm and valid only for 30 seconds. Because of this time variable characteristic, it is called TOTP.
- TOTP is 8 digit long numeric string.
- TOTP is personal to the resident and is uniquely generated every 30 seconds for each resident separately.
- With time-based OTP, the TOTP validation server and token generation app(like mAadhaar) use their respective system times to generate OTPs. The TOTP algorithm assumes that the system times are synchronized.

What is UIDAI?
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is an Indian government agency that provides unique identification numbers (UIDs) and cards for Aadhaar. The Government has instructed the agency to create, decide, and set up the infrastructure required to issue Aadhaar cards.
UIDAI operates in collaboration with the Indian Registrar General for Census Information. Unique identification numbers (UID), known as “Aadhaar,” have been developed by UIDAIfor all Indian residents. It is led by Nandan Nilekani, who was former President and Co-Founder of Infosys Ltd, and a cabinet minister. UIDAI published 20 crores Aadhaar UID numbers and cards from 2012 to 2013 throughout India. In 2014, it planned to serve a total of 40 crore men.
UIDAI is responsible under the Aadhaar Act of 2016 for registration and authentication of Aadhaar and is responsible for the implementation and administration of all phases of the Aadhaar life cycle. UIDAI also establishes the scheme, process, and framework for the issue of the Aadhaar numbers to individuals. Aadhaar card is a secure and shareable document that any Aadhaar number holder may use to check identity offline. Is Aadhaar Card Mandatory?

Step1: Click on Locate an enrolment center
The Enrollment Center is the place where the people of the city can go and complete their Aadhaar card. For that, you need to fill out the enrollment chart, collect demographic and biometric data. This process is free of cost.
Step2: Click on Postal (PIN) Code

Required Documents for Aadhaar Card
You must bring in original copies of Aadhaar supporting documents. During enrollment, these original copies will be scanned and then returned to you. Make sure you provided the correct date of birth of yours, cause as per the rules – it can be corrected or changed later only once, in case of any mistake. If the date of birth needs to be changed more than once, an exception process may only be used, which may further oblige residents to visit UIDAI’s Regional Office (RO).
Proof of Your Identity
Identity verification documents prove that you are the person you claim to be. All papers used as proof of identity must include your name and your photo at the very least. If you visit any Aadhaar registration center to register for Aadhaar, hold any of the following documents as proof of identification.

What are the Uses of an Aadhaar Card?

- Last but not least, to open the pdf, you need an 8-digit password.
As seen in the example above, the latest E-Aadhaar letter pdf password consists of eight characters in total. The password combines the first four letters of your name with the year of birth.
Correction of Aadhaar @ SSUP
In the Self-Service Update Portal (SSUP), you can change your address online. Please visit the Permanent Enrollment Center for the correction of your name, address, dob, sex, mobile number, email, and biometrics, like fingerprints, iris & pictures.

- PROCEED TO UPDATE ADDRESS
Open the Self-Service Update Portal for SSUP Aadhar

Ans: UIDAI can build and recover a current VID in many ways. These options are made available through the portal of UIDAI, E-Aadhaar, Aadhaar registration center, M-Aadhaar Mobile App, and others,. Currently, the UIDAI portal has a VID generation facility.
