In order to check your Aadhaar card status, you need to follow the steps below:

  1. Open the UIDAI official web portal uidai.gov.in

  1. Click the link Enroll & Get Aadhaar from the blue horizontal navigation.
  2. Now, you will see three form fields. Enter Enrollment ID (EID) and Date/Time details as printed on the enrollment slip.
  3. Now enter the security code as shown in the image next to the 3rd form field.
  4. Now click the check status button.

If your Aadhaar details have been verified, then you will see a message that your Aadhaar card has been generated & dispatched.

You should expect your card to arrive at your registered mailing address within few days.

If your Aadhaar application is under process, you can check the status again after few days by following the procedure as described above.

Check Status Via SMS

If due to some reason, you are not able to access the internet, then you will not be able to check Aadhaar card status. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has a solution to this problem as well as it is continuously finding new ways to facilitate applicants in every step.

Compose a new message on your mobile phone in the following format:

UID STATUS 12345678912345 and send this SMS to mobile number 51969. You will have to replace 1234567891234 with your own enrollment ID printed on the EID slip. Within few minutes, you will get your Aadhaar card status along with your Aadhaar number if your Aadhar verification has completed.
