Aadhaar is a unique identification number that contains 12-digit. It is a unique number and will be yours for your entire life. No one in the country will have an Aadhar number similar to yours. It is issued by the legislative body stabled a decade ago by the name Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This service is a free of cost, voluntary service by the Government of India to their residents. By residents, we mean any Indian living inside the country for at least 182 days in a year. A person may be resident in one year but may cease to be a resident in the subsequent year.
The first-time enrollment in Aadhaar will not charge anything however, further changes of demographic and biometric data may charge up to the amount of INR 50.
Nowadays the UIDAI had upgraded its system very much by providing the facility of online and offline mode for the registration as well as the update of the details. Recently a news has been reported through the official Twitter page of UIDAI that the top six services have been activated at the Aadhaar center. Those top six services are:
• Aadhaar Enrollment.
• Address Updated.
• Photo/Biometric Updates.
• Name/Gender/Date of Birth Update.
• Mobile Number/Email ID Update.
• Aadhaar Download and Colored Print.
Those people who are looking forward to updating or change their demographic or biometric details such as photo, mobile number, address, or biometric scans just have to visit their nearest Aadhaar center or Aadhaar Kendra to get their Aadhaar Updated. The person who is visiting the Aadhaar center for the Aadhaar seeding has to carry all the original documents along with themselves.
UIDAI also announced good news for the residents on their official Twitter account is that they can now easily book an Appointment at the Aadhaar center through online mode. Appointments can be booked from the official website of UIDAI. The department made more ease for the residents by providing the facility of selecting their location so that they can easily visit the nearest Aadhaar center. UIDAI provided a link on Twitter so that the people can book an appointment.
Now if we talk about the charges to update the Aadhaar, so the person has to pay the amount of INR 50 for the changes of demographic and biometric details. While on booking the appointment no charges will be applied said by the UIDAI. The payment will be made directly at the Aadhaar center through cash. It is also reported that no payment will be taken for the biometric details of a child.
In the recent past, the government had made this mandatory to link the Aadhaar card with PAN (Permanent Account Number) card. But recent news has been reported that the Government has made an extension in the date to link the PAN with the Aadhaar card. 30th September was the last date for the linking process but after the extension, the last date is 31st March as prescribed by the Ministry Of Finance.
