1. Visit the IRCTC web portal and login with your credentials user name & password. If you do not have an account, create a new one that will take hardly 5 minutes.
2. On the homepage of the IRCTC, click Link Your Own Aadhaar. You will find this link inside the My Account part of the page.
3. Now enter your 12 digit Aadhar number. You have to tick the disclaimer part.
4. Click the send OTP (One Time Password) button.
5. You will get the OTP on your registered mobile number associated with UIDAI. Input this OTP on the IRCTC portal.
6. Press the submit button. Upon verification, you will see your details on the screen.
7. Next step is to check the disclaimer option and click on the update button.
Your IRCTC account will be linked with your Aadhar number successfully.

Complete Steps To Lock And Unlock Aadhar Biometric Data Online At UIDAI

  1. Open UIDAI’s web portal to check the status “lock or unlock”.
  2. Under the Aadhaar Services portion, choose the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics”.
  3. Input the 12-digit Aadhaar unique number. Also, input the security code as visible on the image.
  4. Now hit the Send OTP (One Time Password) button.
  5. You will receive the OTP on your mobile number registered with UIDAI.
  6. Now enter the OTP received on your mobile number and press the Login button.
  7. This action will allow you to lock the biometrics.
  8. Input the 4-digit security code as visible on the image and press the “Enable” button.
  9. Your biometrics will get locked. In order to reverse the process, you will have to unlock it.

Unlock Aadhar Biometric

You can also unlock the biometrics information too.

  1. Enter your Aadhaar number UID. Also, enter the security code as shown in the image.
  2. Press the “Send OTP” option.
  3. You will receive the OTP on the mobile number registered with UIDAI.
  4. Put this OTP in the form field and press the “Login” option.

If you want to temporarily unlock your biometric details, just input the security code. Now press the “Unlock” option.

Your biometrics details will get unlocked for 10 minutes temporarily.

The locking time and date will be displayed after which biometrics will get secured automatically.

Whenever you need not have a lock on your biometric details, you can do so by disabling the lock function indefinitely.

Please note that the Biometric detail lock disabling function is available only via the online web portal.

You can disable the lock, sign in to the UIDAI portal with the Aadhaar number.

  1. Input the Aadhaar number. Also, input the security code
  2. Input the security code as shown in the image and then press the “Disable” option.

How To Link Aadhar Card With SBI And HDFC Mutual Funds?

Previously the Indian government had made this mandatory for the citizens to link their Aadhaar Cards with various other documents and with financial institutions as well. Currently, it has been reported that the IRDA (Infrared Data Association) has made this suggestion that the insured people who are having their insurance policies, should connect their Aadhaar card with their policies. They also issued a notification saying that the insured client should connect their PAN (Permanent Account Number) card as well.

If the person does not connect his/her Aadhaar and PAN(Permanent Account Number) card, the department will prohibit the policies. For reactivation, he/she should link the above-mentioned documents with the policies. The HDFC bank has made a facility for their HDFC insurance clients that they can easily link their accounts with Aadhaar card online.

The steps to link Aadhaar card number with SBI online are as under:

  • At first, you have to open the SBI life official website, click on the banner which says “Aadhaar along with PAN”.
  • After clicking on the above-mentioned banner, you have to write down your Policy No. Instead of policy no, you can also enter your Customer ID and your birth date. After adding this information you have to enter your security code, then simply click on “submit”
  • After adding all the policy information, enter PAN and Aadhaar amount
  • After verifying all the information, click on the “Submit” button.
  • After completing all the procedure you will be having a confirmation message which says that you have successfully linked your Aadhaar and PAN with your policy.

The above-mentioned steps are for the online banking mode. The SBI has also provided the facility of offline mode for the peoples who are not aware of online or internet banking, so they can also easily link their Aadhaar and PAN with their policy. The following steps are as under:

  • First of all, go to the nearest SBI insurance office
  • In the office, you will get a form. Complete the form with your Aadhaar and PAN information.
  • Along with the form, including the xerox copies of your Aadhaar and PAN cards.
  • Give the form to the respective administrator.
  • After submitting the form you will receive a confirmation slip. The slip can also be used for the tracing of the Aadhaar linking process.
  • You will also receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number

People who are having the HDFC life insurance policy can also link their Aadhaar and PAN easily through online procedure. The steps are as under:

  • Open the HDFC life insurance website
  • In the given space, fill your policy number, birth date, and the amount of Aadhaar and PAN.
  • Carefully read the term and policy, and click on the disclaimer option.
  • Simply click on the “submit” button.
  • HDFC and UIDAI will verify your Aadhaar and PAN details.
  • After the complete verification, your insurance will completely link with your Aadhaar.

Now for the people who cannot use the online banking steps can use the offline mode features. The steps are as under:

  • Go to the nearest HDFC life department.
  • Fill the form with your Aadhaar and PAN info.
  • You will be having a confirmation number while submitting the form.
  • The confirmation number can also be used for the tracing of your Aadhaar linking process.

Aadhar has become a necessity in our life. In every step of life, you need this number to avail of various services. The business of mutual funds is on rising in India. In a mutual fund, investors pool their money and invest in different types of securities such as stocks, money markets, and other types of financial assets. The gain earned is distributed among the participants subject to the agreed proportion of gains or losses. In order to smooth line the operating procedures of mutual funds, Central Government has advised the residents of India to link their Aadhar number with mutual funds, if they invested in mutual funds.  According to Prevention of Money Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017, mutual fund companies must collect Aadhar numbers from mutual fund investors. They should verify the details of their investors so that the link process can be completed for the benefit of them.

On the other hand, a Demat account is an online account whereby the account holder keeps the financial securities or assets in electronic form. This helps in avoiding the traditional method of holding paper-based share certificates. In India, there are two organizations that administer the Demat account. One is Central Depository Services & the other is National Security Depository Limited.

Link Mutual fund with Aadhar Online

  1. Visit the official web portal of CAMS available at https://mycams.camsonline.com/
  2. On the webpage, you will find the ‘Investor Services’ section. Inside this, you will find the option for Aadhar linking or mapping.
  3. Now you have to select the option to link Aadhar to a mutual fund.
  4. Enter your Aadhar number. Now you have to click send OTP to your registered mobile number.
  5. When you enter the OTP on the screen, the Aadhar number verification gets completed.
  6. Now all your mutual fund portfolios in the CAMS database will be linked to your Aadhar number.

How to Link Aadhar Card with Demat account

The procedure is very easy and straight forward. Just follow the process described below:

Step 1: Open NSDL’s website. Choose the link of  Aadhaar Number to Demat Account.” This process is also called the seeding process.

Step 2: Now enter the name and ID of the Depository Participant, along with the Permanent Account Number) PAN information. Enter the verification code. Now, click ‘Proceed.’

Step 3: You will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your registered phone number.  Also, an email will also be delivered.

Step 4: Once entering the OTP, the complete information of the online Demat Account will be displayed. Now it is your duty to double-check details for discrepancies. Once scrutiny finishes, choose to ‘Proceed.’

Step 5: Now, it is time to input details such as the 12-digit Aadhaar number and DoB. Now again choose the option to ‘Proceed.’

Step 6: Within few minutes, you will get an OTP on registered mobile linked with your Aadhaar.

Step 7: Just enter this OTP, and click the submit button

Step 8: Your Aadhar number is now mapped/ linked to your Demat Account. You should receive an email & SMS confirming the success of the linking process.
